{"id":370,"date":"2017-06-27T15:13:07","date_gmt":"2017-06-27T15:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/?p=370"},"modified":"2017-06-28T15:14:39","modified_gmt":"2017-06-28T15:14:39","slug":"remote-hypertension-management-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/news\/2017\/06\/remote-hypertension-management-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Remote hypertension management study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TeleMED selected again for remote hypertension management study <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Feasibility and reimbursement model to be examined<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alberta Innovates, through its Accelerating Innovations into CarE program (AICE), has accepted the funding application made by the University of Alberta and partners that include Telemed Diagnostic Management Inc. (TeleMED).<\/p>\n<p>AIberta Innovates (AI) is an Alberta-funded Corporation tasked with delivering on the research and innovation priorities of the Government of Alberta.\u00a0 It focuses on the full research and innovation continuum, taking ideas from the lab to the marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>The approved application, titled <strong>Implementation of Blood Pressure Telemonitoring \u00a0and Case<\/strong> <strong>Management after a Cerebrovascular Event<\/strong>,\u00a0 describes a multi-staged, collaborative initiative between University of Alberta researchers, the Alberta Health Services Strategic Clinical Network and TeleMED.\u00a0 This first stage will assess if home blood pressure telemonitoring and case management for stroke victims can be implemented in Alberta.\u00a0 The second stage of the project will be to develop an economic model of home blood pressure telemonitoring in Alberta.\u00a0 This will be done to confirm that home blood pressure telemonitoring with case management is cost-effective and even cost-saving in Albertans who have had a recent stroke.\u00a0 In the third stage, a group of stakeholders will be assembled to determine how to implement this intervention in a manner that is sustainable.<\/p>\n<p>TeleMED will contribute to this project by developing a customized home blood pressure telemonitoring system that will operate on <em>ViTELflo<\/em>, its proprietary platform for management of non-invasive diagnostic data.\u00a0 It will also provide support for users during the project and will, subsequently, participate in the development of a sustainable funding model for providing this service on a widespread level.<\/p>\n<p>TeleMED&#8217;s role in this study leverages its extensive experience in providing large-scale data management solutions to community laboratory networks, hospitals, research organizations and in home care settings across Canada.\u00a0 Furthermore, as TeleMED&#8217;s President and CEO Asa Lebel remarks, &#8220;This study will mark the second collaboration between TeleMED and University of Alberta, as it is also the University&#8217;s technology partner in a study titled <strong>Telemonitoring and Protocolized Case Management for Hypertension in Seniors<\/strong>.\u00a0 TeleMED&#8217;s expertise in this area positions it as a leader in providing technology solutions for remote hypertension management in Canada.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Telemed Diagnostic Management Inc., an ISO 13485:2003 certified company, has been a pioneer in the development of powerful solutions for managing non-invasive medical diagnostic data.\u00a0 We serve an array of verticals in the healthcare industry including community diagnostic laboratories, specialty clinics, occupational testing organizations, family physician groups and paramedical service providers.\u00a0 Our solutions feature advanced security safeguards, innovative quality management tools, business analytic capabilities, smart electronic forms and a high degree of interoperability and connectivity.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alberta Innovates, through its Accelerating Innovations into CarE program (AICE), has accepted the funding application made by the University of Alberta and partners that include Telemed Diagnostic Management Inc.
