{"id":72,"date":"2013-01-30T16:52:58","date_gmt":"2013-01-30T16:52:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/news\/?p=72"},"modified":"2013-01-30T23:04:41","modified_gmt":"2013-01-30T23:04:41","slug":"whats-next-in-ecg-management-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/articles\/2013\/01\/whats-next-in-ecg-management-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Next in ECG Management Technology?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is no question that the introduction of electronic ECG management brought vast improvements in productivity, profitability and clinical outcomes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Processes were automated and streamlined.<\/li>\n<li>Best practices were standardized.<\/li>\n<li>Patients were given access to clinical experts regardless of their location.<\/li>\n<li>The flow of patients increased and so did the flow of revenue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[72]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-73\" alt=\"ECG Quality Stats\" src=\"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap-300x193.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap.jpg 738w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Once users became accustomed to the benefits of electronic ECG management, the search began for other ways to wring inefficiency out of workflows. Before long users focused on the issue of connectivity, making demands such as<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI don&#8217;t want to enter patient demographics into my ECG management system if they already exists in my booking system.\u201d and<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI want my patient&#8217;s ECG results to sit in the same place as her other test results.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The response to these and similar demands was \u201cWe can make it happen\u201d. As a result, ECG management systems now feature open system architecture so that they can be seamlessly connected to other information systems in the same enterprise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap-2.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[72]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"197\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-74\" alt=\"ECG Quality Stats\" src=\"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap-2-300x197.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap-2-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.telemeddiagnostic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/screencap-2.jpg 948w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>All of this leads to the inevitable question, \u201cWhat&#8217;s Next?\u201d At TeleMED we believe that the next place to look for productivity gains is in the workflows related to the management of ECG tracing quality and the management of interpretation quality.<\/p>\n<p>All of our customers stress the need for constant monitoring of and improvement in ECG quality. All of them believe in and have quality management programs. However, in an environment that demands better and better service with fewer and fewer resources, all of them struggle with the time required to make these programs work. We have looked closely at the steps our customers take in conducting retrospective reviews. Based on our success in streamlining the process of acquiring test data, we are now using the same strategies to streamline the process of reviewing that data.
